Company Website Manager

Summary of Position:  This position will be responsible for the direction and overall management of the day to day operations of BirkenstockUSA.com.  A key component will be to drive online sales growth and expand brand awareness through web marketing efforts including email, natural and paid search, affiliate programs, co-branded partnerships, and social marketing. 

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning
-    Own and manager P&L, including meeting/exceeding sales targets for website, while being consistent with company’s priorities for long and short term financial objectives.
-    Establish actionable web strategy towards a more personalized web experience through innovative social marketing to drive brand awareness and intent to purchase.

  • -    Collaborate with executive team to develop integrated business web initiatives.
  • -    Responsible for project managing content production processes, establishing and communicating timelines for deliverables to cross-functional team members. Create and monitor schedules to ensure timely, quality and efficient program execution.
  • -    Coordinate with Birkenstock Orthopädie GmbH to insure correct positioning of the Brand and proper use of all trademarks, as well as the timely and appropriate communication of global merchandising messages and product assortments.

  • Website Management, Merchandising and Branding

    -    Develop our existing site into the recognized best resource on the web for information about the Birkenstock brand, its heritage, core values and products. 
    -    Coordinate and implement activities related to the company’s web site (Birkenstockusa.com) including content selection and presentation, an online marketing strategy, support of brick and mortar resellers, affiliate programs and the online store.
    -    Update website using a content management system, generate and oversee basic website design and work with web vendor as appropriate.
    -    Oversee launch of new web businesses.
    -    Maintain online product content including product descriptions, pictures, product metadata, and categorization and pricing.
    -    Manage cross-functional “web” team for creative development and technical implementation of site updates and projects.
    -    Coordinate web promotions and email calendar to be in sync with Company’s sales & marketing calendars.
    -    Maintain awareness of current business trends through comparison-shopping, online analytics, and industry-specific materials from trade and media channels.
    -    Research and monitor how the Birkenstock brand is being presented online by our resellers and others. Potentially work with resellers to educate and improve brand presentation. Share assets and online creative with our premium online partners.
    -    Manage the company’s day to day relationship with relevant vendors and contractors.

  • Internet Marketing

    -    Develop and encourage the Birkenstock Community of users through unique, inviting and opt-in programs, formats, social media marketing, etc
    -    Monitor Track all marketing campaigns and compile reports that track ROI and other key metrics.
    -    Monitor search engine optimization and create a social media optimization program.

  • Position Requirements/Qualifications

    -    BA/BS degree required.
    -    5-10 years of experience in e-commerce marketing preferred.
    -    Excellent oral and written communication skills (experience writing copy) and a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to get work completed.
    -    Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Flash, and Photoshop.
    -    Eagerness to be hands-on and take ownership of every aspect of the web site from conceptualizing, to business case, to copy and content, and through implementation and reporting.
